ACCREDITED CALIBRATION SERVICES
Calibration of Flow Meters, Tanks, Magnets and Gaussmeters
We check that your instruments measure what they claim to measure. We calibrate with standards traceable to CENAM (Mexico’s national metrology institute) and give you a calibration certificate accredited by EMA or PJLA.
Liquid flow · Fixed and mobile tanks (tank trucks and rail tank cars) · Gaussmeters and magnets
What we calibrate
The figures come from the official scope of each accreditation. If your instrument is not listed, ask us.
━━
Liquid flow
✔ ema accreditation FL-42
We check that your flow meter reads what actually passes through the pipe. We compare it, on your own line, against a Coriolis master meter calibrated at CENAM, and tell you how far off it is (error) and the factor to correct it (K-factor or meter factor).
For: industrial plants, fuel terminals and distribution, water utilities.
METERS
Coriolis (mass). With water, also turbine, positive displacement, electromagnetic, ultrasonic, vortex and propeller; with hydrocarbons, turbine, positive displacement and ultrasonic.
FLOW RATE
From 50 to 1,100 L/min or kg/min (about 3 to 66 m³/h).
LIQUIDS AND PIPING
Water, hydrocarbons and other liquids · pipe from 12 to 150 mm (½″ to 6″) · up to 1.34 MPa (≈ 13 bar) · from 5 to 40 °C.
ACCURACY
Uncertainty from 0.048 % (mass) and 0.06 % (volumetric): about ±0.6 L per 1,000 L.
WHERE
At your facility · methods based on API MPMS ch. 4.5, 4.8, 11.1 and 12.2.3.
━━
Tanks and tank trucks
✔ ema accreditation V-63
We determine how many liters your tank really holds at each level and give you its calibration table (also called a strapping or gauge table). That way you know exactly how much product you have, receive or deliver.
For: storage terminals, service stations, carriers, chemical and food industries.
TANK TRUCKS AND RAIL TANK CARS
From 5,000 to 120,000 L · uncertainty 0.14 % (1.4 L per 1,000 L) · NMX-CH-146-IMNC-2008.
FIXED TANKS: VERTICAL, HORIZONTAL AND IRREGULAR
From 5,000 to 200,000 L, filled through a Coriolis meter · 0.18 % with water (ISO 4269) and 0.21 % with hydrocarbon (API MPMS 2555).
LARGE VERTICAL TANKS, WITH OR WITHOUT DOME
From 200,000 to 2,000,000 L, measuring their geometry with a total station and tape · 0.18 % · API MPMS ch. 2.2A and 2.2G.
WHERE
At your facility.
━━
Gaussmeters, magnets and magnetic traps
✔ PJLA accreditation · ISO/IEC 17025
We check that your gaussmeter measures the magnetic field correctly and that your magnets, magnetic grates and traps keep the strength needed to catch metal particles. A weakened magnet lets contaminants into your product.
For: food, pharmaceutical, plastics and recycling industries that use magnetic separation.
GAUSSMETERS
From 1 to 40 G (uncertainty 0.62 %) and from 500 to 10,000 G (0.47 %).
MAGNETS, MAGNETIC GRATES AND TRAPS
From 500 to 10,000 G (uncertainty 0.55 %).
TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA
Earth’s magnetic field is only about 0.5 G and a fridge magnet is around 100 G. 10,000 G equals 1 tesla.
WHERE
At the laboratory (Querétaro, Mexico) or at your facility · IEC 61786-1, ISO 10305-2 and IEC 60404-4, -6 and -8-10.
HOW IT WORKS
From your request to the certificate, in four steps
01
Tell us what you need
Which instrument or tank it is, its range and where it is installed. With that we prepare your quote.
02
We schedule the visit
We agree on the date and what is needed on site: access, available liquid and, if necessary, a brief equipment shutdown.
03
We calibrate
Authorized laboratory staff perform the calibration with standards traceable to CENAM, following the accredited method.
04
You get your certificate
With results, error, uncertainty and the corresponding accreditation symbol, ready for your audits.
ACCREDITATIONS
Credentials you can verify
The laboratory’s standards are calibrated at CENAM. You can confirm the validity of the accreditations at ema.org.mx and pjlabs.com.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What people usually ask us
What is an accredited calibration?
It is a calibration performed by a laboratory whose technical competence has been evaluated and recognized by an independent body (in Mexico, ema; internationally, bodies such as PJLA) under ISO/IEC 17025. It is the type of certificate that audits and quality systems usually ask for.
What does “uncertainty” mean?
It is the margin within which the true value lies. An uncertainty of 0.06 % means that, for 1,000 liters, the result is reliable within ±0.6 L. The smaller, the better.
What is a tank calibration table?
It is the table that converts the liquid level in your tank into liters. Without it, or with an outdated one, your inventory can show significant differences.
Do you need to take my equipment away?
Not for flow meters or tanks: they are calibrated at your facility. Gaussmeters and magnets can be calibrated at the laboratory or on site.
How often should I calibrate?
Your quality system, the standard that applies to your process or your customer defines it. Many companies do it once a year; if the instrument is hit, repaired or gives odd readings, it is best to do it sooner.
