Strouhal Number Calculator

The Strouhal number is a fundamental parameter in fluid mechanics that describes the relationship between the oscillation frequency of a flow, the velocity of the fluid, and a characteristic length of the body in its path. Its importance lies in its use for the analysis of flow-induced vibrations, structural resonances, and aerodynamic design of components exposed to air or water currents.

Our online calculator allows you to determine the Strouhal number quickly and accurately. You can choose between the standard method, based on oscillation frequency and fluid velocity, or the empirical method of EEMUA 38:1988, which uses an adjustment constant and the Reynolds number to improve accuracy in industrial systems.
